Today, we were notified by a community member about a concerning social media post. As a precaution, we placed our schools in a working lockdown to ensure the safety of our students and staff. After collaborating with local authorities and thoroughly reviewing the situation, we confirmed that the post was from several years ago and did not pose any current threat.
At Columbia School District, student and staff safety is always our top priority, and we will continue to act out of an abundance of caution in situations like this. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to maintain a secure environment for our school community.
