Boil Water Advisory Update – Columbia School District
Posted Date: 10/04/26 (01:34 PM)
Dear Columbia School District Families,
We received an update from the Port of Walla Walla regarding the water system work taking place in Burbank. Our schools will remain under a boil water advisory through at least Wednesday.
The Port plans to test the water on Monday, with results expected sometime Wednesday. Once those results are received and we have confirmation that the water is safe for normal use, we will update our families and community as soon as possible.
School will continue as scheduled during the advisory. Until the advisory is lifted, Columbia School District will continue to take the necessary precautions to keep our students and staff safe. This includes:
• Providing safe drinking water for students and staff
• Keeping drinking fountains turned off
• Adjusting breakfast and lunch preparation so tap water is not used for drinking or food preparation
• Following all recommended precautions while the advisory remains in effect
Restrooms and handwashing facilities will remain available for normal use.
If you are able, we encourage students to continue bringing their own drinking water to school. However, please know that the district will have drinking water available for every student and staff member who needs it.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as the Port completes their work. We will continue working closely with the Port and will communicate with families as soon as we receive Wednesday’s test results or any additional information.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
